in Rancho Santa Fe, CA. We
have been involved in the
breeding and showing of Arabian
Horses and Whippets for over
20 years. Among our horses
are 5 time National Champion
Half-Arabian, Adams Fire,
4 time National Champion Purebred
Arabian, Nabasken Afire, 2
time National Champion Purebred
Arabian Stallion, Guns Afire,
National Reserve Champion,
A Heart Throb MTA, and National
Reserve Champion Barbarry
Coast.
Our whippet
breeding program is known
world wide. Starline Whippets
has bred over 50 AKC Champions
and includes the late AKC
Ch. Starline's Reign On, ROMX,
the number one sire in the
history of the breed, the
late two time AWC National
Specialty Winner and top producing
Ch.Starline's Claim to Fame,
multiple Best In Show and
Specialty Best In Show, Ch.
Starline's Sweet Sensation,
and AWC National Specialty
Winner Ch.Starline's Masterpiece.
Carey and
I became involved with whippets
in 1984. I have shown horses
my entire life, so the transition
into showing dogs was quite
natural. Our foundation
bitch, was SBIS
Ch. Ringmaster's Gold Fever
ROM ("Quiche"). Call
it luck, or fate, but not
only was Quiche arguably one
of the most beautiful whippets
of our time, but she was able
to pass on her incredible
style and elegance to
her "kids". Her
pedigree was the result of
the vision and dedication
of some of the true "pillars" within
the breeders community. Quiche's pedigree,
and all of our dogs that followed,
incorporate the outstanding
attributes of some of the
top producing dogs in the
history of the breed.
 In
1990 Quiche was crossed with
Ch. Hamrya's Lucky Charm FCH,
ROM, producing a litter
that defined the future of
Starline. Her daughter, BIS,
SBIS Ch. Starline's Claim
To Fame ROMX ("Brie")
was one of the top hounds
in the early 1990's and won
two American Whippet Club
National Specialties, 7 All-
Breed Best In Shows, and over
50 Hound Groups. Her son, SBIS
Ch. Starline's Reign On JC
ROMX ("Reign"),
is the Number 1 sire in our
breed, with 118 American Champions
to date. We successfully campaigned BIS,
SBIS Ch. Starline's Sweet
Sensation to the #1 whippet
in the USA in 2003,
and #3 Hound.
The whippets
have brought us years of enjoyment
and wonderful rewards as breeders,
and we will cherish the many
great friends we have made
along the way.
