Chanel makes history with Best In Show #22! The top seven dogs in the US were all in Greensboro NC for today’s Danville Kennel Club show and five of them made it to Debra Thorton’s BIS ring. But it was Cha Cha and handler Lori Wilson who took home career BIS number 22 amongst this stunning group of dogs. This win broke the record for BESTS IN SHOW won by a whippet bitch set all the way back in 1942!!

Chanel wins Best In Show #21 and ties the bitch ALL TIME BEST IN SHOW record!!
Chanel has had an incredible June, winning the AWC Eastern Specialty, and 5 All Breed Bests in Show! Her latest win on this streak came yesterday, 6/28/10, in Portland Oregon among nearly 2000 dogs. Mrs. Janis Mercer awarded Chanel with her 21st Best In Show(Group first under Mrs. Monica Cannestrini), which now ties her for the all time record for bitches set in the 1930's!
We are so proud of team Chanel; the year just reached the half-way mark, and Chanel is just 2 1/2 years old. We can't wait to see what else is in store for our typey, stylish, and big moving little whippet!!!

Chanel went on to win all 3 Hound Groups and 2 BESTS IN SHOW amongst some of the top dogs in the country. Chanel made her debut with hander, Lori Wilson, at the highly competitive AWC Western Specialty weekend in Lompoc, CA. She was awarded Winners Bitch, and Best Puppy In show by hound specialist, Mr. Kent Delaney at the Western Specialty. The next day, under Mrs. Carol Spritzer, Chanel picked up her 2nd 5 point major from the 6-9 puppy class.
