Southern California Whippet Specialty and Western Hound Association Weekend was a great one!
BIS SBIS GCH Starline's Chanel won her 15th Specialty Best In Show under Hound Specialist Ian Douglas Rasmussen from Queensland Australia!

Chanel came back out style at the AZ whippet Association Specialty to win her 14th Specialty Best In Show under Breeder-judge Janet Van Wormer!
This was the 3rd time Cha Cha won the Arizona Specialty, and she retired the beautiful challenge trophy!
October 2012:
Chanel's wins 72nd Best in Show and is

Chanel wins her 71st All-Breed Best in Show before leaving the show ring as #1 Whippet All-Systems through April 2012 to have puppies!!!
We are sad to see her leaving the ring, but very excited to see the beautiful 5th generation Starline pups Cha Cha will be bringing us!

Chanel has won 6 out of 6 Groups in limited showing so far in 2012 and 2 Bests in Show, at the Inland Empire Hound Show and a BIG All Breed Best In Show at the Clearwater Kennel Club in Florida on January 13th!!
January 2012:
Chanel wins Best In Show at the Inland Empire Hound Club of Southern CA for the 3rd year in a row and the Ashton kids take the weekend by storm!!!
Thank you to Mr. David Peat for honoring Chanel with Best In Show at the Inland Empire Hound Club of Southern CA, and Mrs. Pam Peat for awarding her Specialty Best In Show in the lovely entry at Greater San Diego Specialty Show to send her into this lovely group of almost 800 hounds! Chanel is the only hound to ever win Best In Show 3 times at this show, and retired the challenge trophies. Her Specialty Best in Show over nearly 80 whippets ties Chanel, once again, for the All-Time record for Specialty wins in our breed.
Chanel also topped the highly competitive hound groups both Saturday and Sunday under Mr. Wayne Burton from Australia and Mrs. Pam Peat, after winning two LOVELY breeds under breeder/judge Mrs. Lori Nelson and Ms. Lena Stalhandske respectively. Thank you to all the judges for these fabulous wins!
December 2011:
In 2011 Chanel won 35 Bests In Show and 130 Hound Group Firsts to finish #1 Hound and Top Ten Dog Among All Breeds, All-Systems, for the second year in a row!! She is also one of only 5 AKC PLATINUM GRAND CHAMPIONS to date!! Wow are we proud!

Chanel made history by winning her 59th All-Breed Best In Show under esteemed judge Mr. James White at the Lexington Kennel Club, making her the TOP WINNING WHIPPET IN AKC HISTORY!
There are no words that can adequately describe our pride and joy in this accomplishment. Chanel is just 3 1/2 years old, and achieved this incredible record in less than 3 years of showing.
Our deepest gratitude goes out to all the judges who awarded Chanel along this incredible journey to the #1 whippet in AKC breed history.

Chanel Breaks The All Time Specialty Record!
Chanel has continued into 2011 with great success. January and February she garnered 4 more All-Breed Bests in Show, another huge All-Hound Best in Show, and 2 more Specialty Bests In Show. Her 11th Specialty Best In Show at the Arizona Whippet Association under breeder/judge Donna Lynch (Hamrya) breaks the breed record! We can't wait to see what the rest of the year brings for our beautiful girl.

Chanel finishes February with her 4th BEST IN SHOW at the Silver Bay Kennel Club, moving her into the #1 Hound and #2 dog ALL BREEDS !!!!! We could not be more proud of our girl and her handler supreme, Lori Wilson!

Chanel makes history with Best In Show #22! The top seven dogs in the US were all in Greensboro NC for today’s Danville Kennel Club show and five of them made it to Debra Thorton’s BIS ring. But it was Cha Cha and handler Lori Wilson who took home career BIS number 22 amongst this stunning group of dogs. This win broke the record for BESTS IN SHOW won by a whippet bitch set all the way back in 1942!!

Chanel wins Best In Show #21 and ties the bitch ALL TIME BEST IN SHOW record!!
Chanel has had an incredible June, winning the AWC Eastern Specialty, and 5 All Breed Bests in Show! Her latest win on this streak came yesterday, 6/28/10, in Portland Oregon among nearly 2000 dogs. Mrs. Janis Mercer awarded Chanel with her 21st Best In Show(Group first under Mrs. Monica Cannestrini), which now ties her for the all time record for bitches set in the 1930's!
We are so proud of team Chanel; the year just reached the half-way mark, and Chanel is just 2 1/2 years old. We can't wait to see what else is in store for our typey, stylish, and big moving little whippet!!!

Chanel had a very successful day at the Burbank Kennel Club, September 27th with breeder/owner/handler, Lori Lawrence, on the lead for her 3rd major from the puppy class!! What a thrill it was to show this beauty. Thank you to hound expert, Dr. Richard Meen, for this lovely win, and to all the exhibitors for your compliments on our beautiful Chanel. Watch for her at the Del Valle weekend in the capable hands of Lori Wilson.
Lompoc, CA - July 25th & 26th, 2008
Chanel made her debut with hander, Lori Wilson, at the highly competitive AWC Western Specialty weekend in Lompoc, CA. She was awarded Winners Bitch, and Best Puppy In show by hound specialist, Mr. Kent Delaney at the Western Specialty. The next day, under Mrs. Carol Spritzer, Chanel picked up her 2nd 5 point major from the 6-9 puppy class.
